Lucas Salas - Co-Founder
Lucas is a student-athlete at SUNY Potsdam, where he plays Division III hockey and studies mathematics in pursuit of a BA/MA degree. After graduation, he plans to play professional hockey—bringing his mindset and message with him into every arena he steps into.
"I’m very fortunate that my family instilled in me a relentless work ethic. I truly believe that’s what life is all about,” Lucas said. “Those values are what I hope to highlight through Xcelsior."
The idea for Xcelsior began in 2019 as a passion project shared with his close friends David, Kai, Jimmy, and John. While the concept evolved over the years, it officially took shape in 2024. Lucas envisions Xcelsior Collective as more than just a brand—it’s a platform for like-minded individuals who embody the power of Staying Underrated and who strive to uplift one another through hard work, humility, and community.
David Tauman - Co-Founder
David is a bridge engineer who found his way into civil engineering through a passion for social impact. His mission is simple: improve the world, however he can.
“I think that’s really what life is all about,” he shared in an interview, “just enjoying the time we have here together.”
When Lucas invited him to help build the Xcelsior Collective, David was all in. He deeply believes in the mindset of Staying Underrated and is passionate about sharing that message with others. Through the Collective, he’s found a creative outlet that lets him express his love for writing, design, and meaningful storytelling.
