How did you start Xcelsior? - @nicksalas_

The Xcelsior we’ve come to know today really started in the summer of 2024 when I was inspired by my little brother to make some hats with the wordmark on them. These hats were made by a local print shop and were light blue and made of material so light that they seldom held their shape. Despite the questionable quality of these hats, it was this decision that led me to send David a hat with a letter in it asking him to be my business partner for what was an unknown adventure at the time. Honestly, I was expecting apprehension from David and thought it would become a project that was put on the backburner so I was surprised by the enthusiasm David texted me with. Seemingly days later we had formed our LLC and began operating as Xcelsior Collective which has grown into the brand you know today.

What made you guys start this brand? - @adoree_brooke15

One of our mentors and a Xcelsior featured Mastermind presenter once told us that it is okay for us to be our own audience. At the heart of your question, I had the idea and desire to start this brand because I wanted to create a brand that highlighted people like myself. I’d like to describe myself as someone who works hard but might not always get the spotlight and I’m completely okay with that but I personally think it’s cool to work hard. It’s cool to set goals and reach for them no matter the size or likelihood. And that is exactly what our slogan “Stay Underrated” is all about. Luckily for me I was able to start this brand with David who also embodies this feeling. Without his collaboration, none of this would be possible.

Do you sign esports players? - @mangoneel

Neel is a crucial part of my Fortnite No-Build trios squad, so he will definitely be getting an invitation if we ever expand into an esports vein. Lucas and I actually come from an esports background, and the first iteration of Xcelsior was actually a Call of Duty Esports team. Our amateur team did win a tournament, but amateur CoD is somewhat volatile and the team eventually split. When we find a good way to integrate esports into our content, we would love to start engaging with esports players.

What are you guys dropping next? - @addvantassel

With our Spring Flourish Collection now available, we are always looking forward to the future. Being a two-person operation, there is only so much we can do as part time students, workers, and business owners. We have loved the clothes we are putting out, but feel we have not had the proper time to focus on our content, ambassadors, and building our community. We are taking a break from clothing production this summer, but as always have plenty of designs and ideas in our back pocket. Expect to see quarter zips, polos, and more graphic tees in the near future.
