🏆 COMPETE — Belmar Five Mile Run

The Belmar Five Mile Run returns Labor Day weekend for one of the Jersey Shore's staple road races. Five miles is long enough to test you without requiring months of marathon preparation.

🏆 COMPETE — Princeton Battlefield 5K

Sunday, September 6 • 9:30 AM • Princeton Battlefield State Park, Princeton, NJ

Run through one of New Jersey's historic Revolutionary War sites at the Princeton Battlefield 5K. The event includes both a 5K and one-mile walk and is part of RevolutionNJ's Revolutionary Race Series.

Runners, walkers, families and history buffs are all welcome. Sometimes competing simply means putting something on the calendar and seeing what you're capable of. (Fleet Feet)

🏆 COMPETE — 9/11 Memorial 5K & Kids' Run

Saturday, September 12 • 8:30 AM • Middletown Train Station, Middletown, NJ

The 5th Annual 9/11 Memorial 5K features a USATF-certified 5K beginning at the Middletown Train Station, followed by a half-mile kids' run at 9:30 AM.

This year's event marks the 25th anniversary of September 11 and supports the Deputy Chief Joseph Capriotti Memorial Scholarship. It's an opportunity to test yourself while showing up for something much bigger than a finishing time. (RunSignup)

The Asbury Park Clearwater Festival brings together live music, community organizations, environmental advocacy and local vendors for a free day in Asbury Park.

Saturday, September 12 • 9:00–11:00 AM or 12:00–2:00 PM • Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve, Princeton, NJ

Friends of Princeton Open Space is hosting two volunteer sessions focused on invasive-species removal, native planting and protecting restoration sites.

Bring a friend—or show up by yourself. Volunteering gives you an easy reason to work alongside people you otherwise may never have met while leaving your community better than you found it.

SCORE Central Jersey is hosting a live workshop on turning a business idea into a value proposition and simple one-page business plan.
