Want to learn a new sport while training in a competitive team environment? SUNY Potsdam Womxn's Rugby is welcoming athletes from all sporting backgrounds during its first two weeks of practice, and no previous rugby experience is required.

🏆 COMPETE — Paddle for Paws Poker Run

Saturday, September 12 • Registration 11:00 AM • Launch 11:30 AM • Jake's on the Water

The Potsdam Humane Society's Paddle for Paws Poker Run invites participants to bring a canoe, kayak or stand-up paddleboard and get out on the water while supporting the shelter.

Not every competition has to involve a scoreboard. Sometimes the challenge is simply getting outside, doing something different and helping a local organization while you're there. (Potsdam Humane Society)

🤝 CONNECT — First Saturday: Welcome Students

Saturday, September 12 • 12:00–5:00 PM • Market Street, Downtown Potsdam

This may be the best Connect opportunity of the entire edition.

Downtown Potsdam is closing Market Street to traffic to welcome college students from across the North Country. Expect live music, student organizations, local vendors, games, giveaways, a scavenger hunt, food and downtown business specials.

Get off campus. Meet somebody from another school. Find a local business you've never visited. Become part of the community you're living in.

🤝 CONNECT — DIY Mosaic Trays

Friday, September 11 • 8:00–10:00 PM • Student Union Fireside Lounge, SUNY Potsdam

SUNY Potsdam students can drop into a relaxed evening of making their own mosaic trays. The university specifically encourages students to come alone or bring friends.

Not every connection has to happen at a career fair or networking event. Sometimes you just need to put yourself in a room with people you haven't met yet.

📈 GROW — Get to Work! Part-Time Job & Internship Fair

Tuesday, September 8 • 1:00–4:00 PM • Barrington Student Union MPR, SUNY Potsdam

SUNY Potsdam's Get to Work Fair gives students access to on-campus jobs, off-campus employers, internships, paid Empire State Service Corps positions and volunteer opportunities.

If you're a student looking to build your résumé, make money or simply figure out what's available around you, don't wait for an opportunity to randomly find you. Go look for one.
